about
For Gracyn, music isn’t just her craft—it’s her fight to stay alive. A powerhouse vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, writer, and producer, she's not just the voice, but an architect of her own sound.
Her latest release california isn’t just a debut single with a new team in a new city; it’s the sound of reinvention and starting over. Born out of her 3,000+ mile solo move, it marks the start of an EP that dives headfirst into resilience and the search for self.

Gracyn knows darkness intimately: the sharp edges of trauma, scars left by silent ghosts, and a desperate swim against a rising tide. Her music grapples openly with growing pains and vulnerability, offering a rare kind of honesty that both challenges and comforts. Her songs are a lifeline for herself and for others struggling to find who they are. Her mission is clear: break the silence around mental illness, create space for radical honesty, and be a light for the lost.
Determined to turn survival into something beautiful, Gracyn left the polished halls of classical music on the East Coast behind. In just a few months, she’s made a name for herself in Los Angeles’s underground music scene with a unique sound: lush, intricate vocal arrangements wrapped in alt-tinged pop production. On stage, she brings a rare technical fire and emotional depth, weaving layered arrangements into performances that are both intimate and cathartic.

"maven of multifacetation"
"a creative force to be reckoned with"
Known for her exceptional sight-singing abilities, Gracyn (mezzo-soprano) has built a reputation for mastering challenging repertoire with precision and ease. Her voice is recognized for its warmth, adaptability, and range, allowing her to move fluidly between soprano and alto. Gracyn's vocal artistry is rooted in classical training—earning a BFA in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University—but shaped by a lifelong curiosity across genres.

Gracyn’s operatic experience ranges from leading the academic premiere of Kamala Sankaram’s techno-noir opera at Carnegie Mellon University to embodying the classic Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus at the College Light Opera Company. She is particularly passionate about shining light on overlooked composers and premiering new works. Gracyn earned two consecutive Encouragement Awards from the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition while still in her undergraduate studies. She has performed with the College Light Opera Company, Pittsburgh Festival Opera, and is currently a roster artist with Pacific Opera Project in Los Angeles.

Gracyn's love for choral music began early, sparked by the ACDA National Treble Choir. Gracyn's first professional role in a choir was with the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh under the direction of Thomas Douglas. Since moving to Los Angeles, Gracyn has taken the choral scene by storm, singing as both a soprano and alto with many professional ensembles such as Choral Arts Initiative, Voices of Terpsichor, and the Lighted Window Festival Choir. She can also be found in sacred ensembles throughout Southern California.

Gracyn Blu got her start in classical music, first studying piano and violin before teaching herself guitar and ukulele. As a teenager, she began writing original songs while also acting in local theatre productions. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University, with minors in Music Technology, Drama, and Music Education, as well as earning a K–12 Music Education teaching certificate.
Gracyn’s creative journey began the moment she touched a piano at five years old, sparking a lifelong drive to make art. A self-described genre-and-gender bender, she has never fit neatly into one box. While continuing piano studies for over a decade, she also taught herself a wide array of instruments, from violin to electric guitar, and explored diverse musical styles. By age 21, she had already become an award-winning opera singer. Though Gracyn had been writing music since childhood, it was after completing her classical degree that she discovered her deepest artistic calling: production and songwriting.
